Health & Insurance

All participants must have health and accident insurance plans that are valid abroad. This insurance should include Emergency Medical Evaluation as well as Repatriation of Remains coverage.

VASI does not assume any responsibility for any injury, accident, illness and loss of personal property, or other contingencies that may befall participants during, or as a result of, their stay abroad.

For information on inoculations, VASI participants should follow the recommendations of their own health care provider. Additional information may be obtained at the Center for Disease Control website www.cdc.gov, by following the link to traveler information for Vietnam: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/destinationVietnam.aspx.

The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi website - hanoi.usembassy.gov - includes information about local health conditions and lists of doctors available in a number of Vietnamese cities.

VASI participants may also want to register their trip to Vietnam with the U.S. State Department's Travel Registration Program: https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui
