Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative
ECAI, in collaboration with the California Digital Library eScholarship project, is endeavoring to define scholarly publication for the digital age. We believe that much academic work in the humanities, social sciences, and history can best be presented to colleagues, students and the public by utilizing web-based technologies and spatial visualization through GIS.

The Center for International and Development Economics Research (CIDER) is a research unit of the Institute of International Studies which works closely with the Department of Economics. CIDER working papers are produced by the Institute of Business and Economic Research (IBER).
The Berkeley Program in Soviet and Post-Soviet Studies (BPS) is a leading center for graduate training and research on the Soviet Union, its successor states, and Eastern Europe.
IES houses the Centers for German and European Studies and the National Resource Center for Western European Studies, the Finnish Studies Program, the France-Berkeley Fund, the French Studies Program, the Italian Research and Study Group, the Portuguese Studies Program, and the Spanish Studies Program.
The Research Center for Romance Studies was established within the division of International and Area Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, in October 1997 to disseminate research relating to the literary and linguistic history of the Romance languages.
