IAS supports and participates in multiple traditional and new electronic publishing initiatives.

Global Field Notes
The world is embroiled in changes - gradual and catastrophic. Though the media inundates us with images and information, there are fewer public forums for critical analysis and sober reflection on the pressing contemporary issues. Additionally, many scholars are slow to discuss the very areas or issues in which they have expertise or are discouraged from addressing their research to a wider audience.

Global Field Notes is a new forum to bridge the gap between the world and the academe. The series will offer analyses and reflections on important world events and trends. Drawing on the advantages of the electronic media - including photos and other visual information - our hope is that Global Field Notes will be widely disseminated and discussed around the world.

University of California International and Area Studies
The University of California International and Area Studies (UCIAS) Electronic Publications Program is a new UC system-wide initiative designed to accelerate, and expand worldwide, the dissemination of the information, ideas, and analyses generated by these activities.

IAS Monographs
The IAS monograph series is now distributed by the Institute of Governmental Studies IGS Press.

IAS Unit Publications
Several IAS units support academic publications related to geograhic areas and international issues.
