IASTP Degree ProgramsGraduates

IAS supports six interdisciplinary undergraduate and three academic graduate degree programs through the IAS Teaching Program (IASTP). IASTP strives to provide students with a set of skills and intellectual concepts which are more reflective of the world's increasing complexity and globalized nature than what is found in traditional academic disciplines. IASTP takes advantage of the unique intellectual depth and diversity of the UC Berkeley faculty by providing the undergraduate and graduate student populations with the opportunity to focus on international problems and issues or area studies which either do not fit within a traditional discipline-focused department or transcend the traditional departmental intellectual framework. These interdisciplinary programs draw on faculty and coursework from over 40 traditional departments as well as many of the professional schools. In addition, the programs offer a number of integrative and specialized courses.
