IAS supports a wide array of outreach efforts in order to help meet the growing demand for analyses of pressing international, ethnic, and multicultural issues in California schools, business communities, government, and the general public.

ORIAS
The Office of Resources in International and Area Studies (ORIAS) works with the IAS Centers and Institutes to provide outreach support to educators in the classroom. ORIAS and its affiliates organize public conferences, in-service training sessions, curriculum development projects, and campus based summer workshops for K-12 teachers and community college faculty.

CLAS
The Center for Latin American Studies promotes the understanding of Latin American culture and politics and acts as a resource for educators, businesses, media, labor groups, and the general public.

CSEES
The Center for Slavic and East European Studies and the Berkeley Program in Soviet and Post-Soviet Studies public outreach activities include public events and a speakers bureau.

Institute of International Studies: Globetrotter
The Institute of International Studies plays an active role in public outreach. Activities include Conversations with History, a series of interviews with distinguished men and women from all over the world talking about their lives and work. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Center's annual conference offers Asia-Pacific leaders from government, business, and the professions the opportunity to exchange ideas and information.

The Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy (BRIE) conducts research and convenes major conferences with industry leaders and policy makers in Europe and East Asia on trade, integration, and industrial development.

The IEAS Shorenstein Symposia links Berkeley faculty with business and professional leaders, policy makers, news media, and the public.

The International/Multicultural Speakers Bureau is organized by International House Berkeley. The Bureau allows students and scholars from all over the world to share their knowledge, experience, and interests with Bay Area residents. As a "resource bank" for local civic and educational organizations, the Bureau provides discussion leaders and speakers representing a broad spectrum of national, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
