1. Zewdineh Beyene, zewdineh@uclink.berkeley.edu, Ethiopia, LLM/JSD Boalt Hall/IAS

Zewindeh is a lawyer and diplomat who participated in negotiations involving conflict with Eritrea and is interested in designing a model for early warning systems.

2. Tenzin Bhuchung, tenzin@berkeley.edu, M.A. Asian Studies

Tenzin is Tibetan, grew up in India and received his masters in human rights from an Australian institution. He will continue to study human rights.

3. Alison Bond, alibee@web.de, New Zealand, Political Science/IAS

Alison has a special interest in conflict resolution and education. She has participated in special programs in Cyprus and South Africa.

4. Devaraju Nagarjun, devaraj@berkeley.edu, India, LLM/Boalt Hall/Asian Studies

Nagarjun is a judge in Pradesh, with a special interest in serving the poorest communities and developing democratic youth leadership.

5. Sergio Alejo Rapu Haoa, srapu@uclink.berkeley.edu, Chile/Easter Island, Certificate Sustainable Development

Sergio was the first indigenous governor of Easter Island and has worked with UNESCO and other international groups to preserve cultural monuments.

6. Patricia Hewitson, hewitson@berkeley.edu, Australia, LLM/JSD Boalt Hall

Patricia is an international diplomat who wishes to further her legal studies, with a particular interest in arms control and the impact of war on women.


7. Michel Huneault, huneault@berkeley.edu, Montreal, M.A. Latin American Studies

Michel has a degree in communications and has been working in electronic communications and with non-profits to promote development in Bolivia.


8. Nani Mahanta, nmahanta@berkeley.edu, India, M.A. Asian Studies

Nani is a lecturer in political science at the Gauhati University. He has done peace research in Assam, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Bhutan and with UNICEF.

9. Simona Pinton, pinton@berkeley.edu, Italy, LLM/ Boalt Hall/IAS

Simona has an interest in human rights and a special interest in refugees. She also worked with the refugees in the Balkans.

10. Ian Wadley, Australia, JSD/Boalt Hall

Ian, an Ambassadorial Scholar, has just returned from working with the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
