Centers for Rotary
World Peace Scholars

    

The Rotary Scholarship for International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution provides generous financial support for a two year Master's level degree emphasizing in international studies, peace studies, and conflict resolution at one of seven University Rotary Centers in Argentina, Australia, England, France, Japan and the United States. Qualified canditates are welcome to apply through their local Rotary Club. Non-U.S. citizens are welcome to apply to the U.S. University Rotary Centers:

  • Duke University/University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina
  • University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, California

U.S. citizens are welcome to apply to foreign universities:

  • University of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England
  • International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan
  • Sciences Po, Paris, France
  • Universidad Del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • University of Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Through this partnership between the Rotary Foundation and these universities, 70 Rotary World Peace Scholars annually will be awarded full scholarships to pursue their studies at a Rotary Center.

Applications for the 2005-07 Rotary World Peace Scholarships are available now. For more information about the application process as well as eligibility, delineation of scholarship funding categories, and selection criteria for this scholarship, please direct inquiries to Rotary International Educational Programs at: rotarycenters@rotaryintl.org. Rotary World Peace Scholars are responsible for gaining admission to their assigned Rotary Center University. Final admission decisions will rest with each university.

It is the belief of the Rotary Foundation that by granting these scholarships for the education of future leaders, Rotary International will fulfill its mission for world understanding and peace. The scholarships:

  • provide an opportunity for scholars to focus on dealing effectively with the obstacles that currently impede international cooperation and peace.
  • advance knowledge on issues of peace and conflict resolution throughout the world community.

The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes world understanding through international humanitarian service programs, cultural exchanges, and educational scholarship programs. These programs are solely supported by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and others that share its vision of a better world.
